Barktober 2025: Celebrating Community and Supporting the Humane Society for Hamilton County

This year’s Barktober was all about coming together as a community and shining a light on the incredible work of the Humane Society for Hamilton County. We turned The District at Saxony into a pet-friendly block party filled with laughter, wagging tails, and neighbors connecting.

Residents showed up with their dogs in everything from superhero capes to bumblebee wings. There was great food from Indy T-N-T Mobile Catering, music that kept the energy up, and plenty of chances to learn more about the Humane Society’s mission and the pets waiting for their forever homes.

The best news of the day? Every adoptable pet that joined us — one sweet dog named Forrest and four adorable kittens — was matched with a future family and began the adoption process. While they didn’t go home that day, knowing they’re on their way to loving homes is exactly the impact we hoped for.

A huge thank-you to everyone who made the event possible: Bubba’s 33 for handing out treats and gift cards, Three to Four Dogs, The Pet Care Club, and Indy T-N-T Mobile Catering for keeping everyone happy and fed. And a special shout-out to Hollywood Feed for donating two gift baskets for our contest winners.

Events like Barktober aren’t just fun — they bring people together, support important causes, and show what’s possible when a community comes out to care for both its neighbors and its pets.
